1/4" BSPP Pneumatic Counterbalance Valve w/ Manual Release and High Temp Seals


NGT’s BG4MC0M-1-V is a pneumatic counterbalance valve that will hold a load in position until pressure or force is applied to move the load. The BG4MC0M-1-V has 1/4 BSPP in/out ports and a blocked pilot port. It has high temperature seals and an extended manual release.
  • Counterbalance valves are internally piloted: the pilot port is plugged, and the valve has a small channel connecting both sides
  • When air is supplied to the other side of the cylinder (retract side), advance side will vent only after pilot signal is energized from pressure buildup on the advance
  • Prevents runaway for vertical cylinders with load
  • Can hold load in the middle of cylinder stroke
  • Allow cylinder to travel at higher speeds
  • Tightening the adjusting screw will increase spring tension holding the valve closed, making the valve more responsive

Application & Function

NGT’s BG4MC0M-1-V is a pneumatic counterbalance valve that will hold a load in position until pressure or force is applied to move the load. Counterbalance valves help prevent cylinder runaway for vertical cylinders carrying a load. The BG4MC0M-1-V has 1/4 BSPP in/out ports and a blocked pilot port. The valve is internally piloted via a small air channel connecting both sides of the valve. As pressure builds in the valve during cylinder runaway, the valve will flutter and not reopen until the pilot signal is energized, continuously modulating. It has high temperature seals and an extended manual release.
